Continuing Professional Development

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) refers to the acts and processes through which one acquires HR-related knowledge and skills beneficial to continuing practice.

Under the membership scheme in 2010, the fulfilment of CPD requirements will be one of the criteria for HKIHRM membership renewal.

What is the outcome if I failed to fulfil the CPD requirement?Membership cannot be renewed if you failed to comply with the requirement of CPD hours.
Do I need to submit my CPD records? The Institute adopts a trust system with respect to the CPD requirements. You are required to submit your CPD records to us and we will also carry out a random check of a certain percentages of members on or before 31 December of the current year. Those selected members will be required to submit their CPD records together with copies of evidence for the CPD activities.
The Institute should have kept my training records when I enrolled to the Institute’s training programmes. Does it mean that I do not need to keep my CPD records? No. It is members’ obligations to keep their CPD records according to the Institute’s guidelines. HKIHRM will only provide a platform to facilitate your record keeping.
